In 1968 when the Boy Scouts of Ireland changed their name to The Scout Association of Ireland the badge for the Dublin Scout District change when Dublin Boy Scout was removed from the badge leaving the three flaming castle turrets.
The are several varieties of the Dublin Boy Scout badge, the 1st issue was wide castle turrets with dark almost black background then narrow turrets with bluer background then wide turrets with noticeably blue background, the later and possibly last issue of the Dublin Boy Scout version was notable in that the turrets are shiny.
There were also several issues of the badge without Dublin Boy Scouts, generally the larger the border the older the issue, older issues also had a canvas backing while the later issues had felt.
The above image is a good illustration of the difference in the blue on the Dublin District badge, the older version looks almost black while the newer version is more noticeably blue.
